Promise: the title of this post is the last Carly Rae reference you will ever read on this blog.
Welcome. Chris Brogan, a thought leader I have recently started following on various online channels, penned an inspirational blog post this week that he titled “Start Your Own Whatever“.
In the post, Brogan accuses his readers of merely participating instead of starting new things. He points to his recent interest in sharing health/fitness insights as an example of what we should be doing:
Start something. Who cares what? The other day, on a whim, I started a group to talk about health and fitness. I did it because I wanted some place to post what I’m learning about food and nutrition and fitness and motivation and the like. I’m not qualified. I’m not an expert.
So here I am, planting my flag. After nearly five years of passionately subscribing toblogs, listening to podcasts, delving into free eBooks, reading, downloading apps, and following cool people around, I am happy to introduce “Be Twenty-Something” to you as my “Whatever”.
My goal and intention is to highlight “post grad problems” and newlywed experiences. I hope to challenge you to look differently at your 9 to 5 and show you the resources I use to work smarter and have fun while I’m doing it. I will demonstrate new products and techniques I’m using to be more productive, stay better informed and live in to my passions and interests. And I’ll welcome your input along the way. I’m no expert by any means, but the excuse of having nothing to say just isn’t working anymore.
